At 8,000 feet the Bench is the natural migration corridor and ideal habitat for bulls, bucks, bear and mountain lion. With over 2000 acres the Bench features thick oak brush, aspens and blue spruce to make it prime archery and muzzle-loader hunting as well as rifle. Bulls and bucks are available to the hunter willing to get up early and stay out late. This is a tough hunt. You will need to be in shape and you must provide 4 X 4 ATVs or horses. Accommodations on the Bench consist of a drop camp with cooking stoves and utensils, heaters and beds.

The 4,000-acre headquarters at 5,600 feet is home to mule deer and elk year-round. As the weather turns cooler, more deer and elk move to the lower elevation headquarters making it an ideal hunting area. After the hunt, you'll return to comfortable accommodations.

The Cow Camp on top of the 10,000 foot Grand Mesa offers rifle and prime archery and muzzle-loader hunting for deer and elk with 3,000 private acres bordered by the Grand Mesa National Forest. When the snow piles up at Cow Camp the game drops off the top to the Bench and Headquarters. We don't book rifle hunters to stay at Cow Camp because of the possibility of snow. Hunters from the Bench and Headquarters can also hunt Cow Camp.
